Members of the Great Ife Students’ Union shut the main entrance of the University of Ibadan over what was described as harassment from a member of the Abefele Security Unit in the institution. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo appoints Apata as new solicitor-general.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has approved the appointment of Dayo Apata, as the new Solicitor General of the Federation. This was confirmed in a statement released. Apata served as the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice in Ekiti between 2010 and 2014, when Kayode Fayemi was Governor. He was born on June 25, 1961, and attended the Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo state, where he sat for and passed University of Cambridge higher school local examination in 1980.
