Plans by the Oyo State government to accommodate the 11.3 million estimated population of Ibadan, the state capital by 2036 are contained in the Ibadan master plan. Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Physical Planning and Urban development, Alhaji Waheed Gbadamosi, who stated this on Tuesday, added that the master plan intended to guide development in undeveloped areas and especially provide sufficient land capacity to accommodate the anticipated population. The six governors from the South-West zone of the country will converge on Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Monday, for an Economic Forum, aimed principally at discussing and promoting issues of common concern and interest. The Oyo State Government has said that the automatic promotion policy in the state has resulted in indolence and nonchalant attitude on the part of pupils.
