Oyo state government, attend to this community

I want to ask the Oyo State government, under the leadership of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, to help us repair and dredge the Aworere river in our community. Aworere is the only river linking about six communities, namely Aba elesin, Oho, Jankata, Kuola, Idi Obi and Aba Bola,  together in Omi -Ido Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Oyo State. In September 2016, following a heavy downpour, about 50 buildings were devastated in the community. Our cows, goats, sheep and fish ponds were swept away by the flood. Oyo Assembly members raise eyebrows over LCDA creation

Debate over a bill to approve the creation of 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Oyo State commenced, on Tuesday, with some members of the state House of Assembly expressing dissatisfaction at the allocation of LCDAs to their zones. Deliberating on the bill for the further amendment of the local government law 2002, members also raised concerns about funding of the new LCDAs and harmonisation of boundaries. Dusting the 2002 Oyo State gazette on local government creation, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has approved the creation of 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in addition to the existing 33. In effect, 14 LCDAs are to be created in Ibadan zone, eight in Oke- Ogun area, seven in Ogbomoso, while four LCDAs was approved for Oyo and two for Ibarapa zone. Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Dr Gbade Ojo, has averred that the recent approval of the creation of 35 local council development areas (LCDAs) in the state would neither increase the cost of local government administration nor hamper the conduct of local government election. Ojo, who argued that the creation of LCDAs was not an expansion of geographical size of the state, said the newly created LCDAs would generate revenue to survive, coupled with the Federal Government allocation to local governments. The process of creating Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Oyo State has commenced. This followed the state assembly’s adoption of a motion seeking the creation of local council development areas across the state.
