Ibadan ICAN gets new chairman
PRINCE Ganiyu Adebowale Adebayo has been installed the chairman of Ibadan and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Nigeria (ICAN) for a two-year term in office. Adebayo was, on Thursday, installed as the 18th chairman of the society at an investiture ceremony held at the Banquet Hall, Premier Hotel, Mokola, Ibadan, with a promise to turn around the fortunes of ICAN in Ibadan and District Society. Part of the promises made by the new chairman was to reduce the rate of unemployment among members through the constitution of an empowerment committee. “Our members seeking employment have been advised to submit their CV to the secretariat for necessary and prompt action,” he said. Other elected executive committee members are: Mr S.O Adesina (vice chairman), Mrs Temitope Babajide (general secretary), Mr Philip Aderinto (treasurer) and Mrs Omokemi Ladipo (financial secretary). Others include Dr M.K Kareem (technical secretary), Mrs S.A Akinbowale (social and publicity secretary), Mr Aderogba Ajibade (assistant secretary), Mrs S.O Ajayi (ex-officio) and Alhaji Ademola Ogunesan, while the immediate past chairman, Alhaji Lukman Dauda, is also expected to be part of the committee.
