Oyo Accord chieftain mourns victims of flood disaster
CHIEFTAIN of Accord Party in Oyo senatorial district, Chief Bisi Ilaka, has commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in last Wednesday’s flood disaster in the state, describing it as a sad reminder of the failure of the present administration. Ilaka, in a statement in Oyo, regretted that after almost three years of the August 26, 2011 flood disaster, the Oyo State government, under Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has not completed any of the bridges. According to him, the Apete, Ayegun, Oremeji bridges and several others are yet to be completed, stressing that the state may witness another disaster when the rainy season finally sets in. The Accord Party chieftain, while sympathising with the families of the victims, posited that the failure of the Governor Abiola Ajimobi-led government to fix the bridges only amplified his insensitivity the welfare of the people. He maintained that virtually all sectors of life in the state are now in comatose due to the poor administrative style of government. “The APC-led administration has disappointed all and sundry. They have failed and all indices of development in the state are negative”, he insisted. Chief Ilaka opined that the Accord Party would normalise all these deficiencies and provide enabling environment for the people to explore and achieve their full potential. He urged the electorate in the state to take solace in the fact that the general election is very near, adding that they should use their votes to kick out APC from the state.
