The Ibadan South East All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum, Ibadan, Oyo State, has demanded the sack of the caretaker chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Alhaji Abass Najeemudeen, for alleged poor performance. A statement by its coordinator, Alhaji Abolade Ogunsanwo and scribe, Peter Ogunwale, described the almost three years of his tenure as a great calamity. They alleged that the council chief was running the local government like a personal estate without recourse to other leaders in the council, due to his lack of political experience and poor managerial skill. The forum averred that the local government chairman has been flouting the orders of Governor Abiola Ajimobi especially in the areas of job creation, youth employment and environmental sanitation, claiming that this was the cause of perpetual youth restiveness in the council area: “All he cherished is doling tokens to youths. A visit to the local government secretariat at Mapo would confirm this abnormal situation.” The stakeholders regretted that his attitude deprived the APC of its committed members who are now in opposing parties.
