WIFE of the Oyo State Governor, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, has re-affirmed her support for the womenfolk in the state as part of government’s efforts towards making life better and meaningful for them.
Mrs Ajimobi stated this while delivering her address at the Ibadan South-East Local Government, Mapo, during the distribution of farm implements and cash donations to 50 women farmers drawn from across the 12 wards in the council area.
While speaking further, Mrs Ajimobi, who was represented by the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abass Najimudeen, said it was important that the womenfolk were empowered economically so that they could contribute to the development of the home, “and this is what the Ajumose Food Bank Project is all about.”
While thanking Mrs Ajimobi and the local government chairman, Alhaji Najimudeen, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Ronke Ajayi, the Local Government Coordinator of the Association of Farmers of Nigeria, said the effort of Mrs Ajimobi and the council boss would go a long way in boosting farming produce in the area.
“We specifically want to commend the council boss, Alhaji Najimudeen, for impacting the lives of the people in the state positively, especially the womenfolk, through his various development programmes,” Mrs Ajayi said, while also charging everybody at the council area to ensure that they vote enmasse for Governor Abiola Ajimobi, at the 2015 election in the state.
