A 500 KVA transformer procured for Gbopa Community at Ologuneru area of Ibadan by the member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ido Constituency, Honourable Wahab Oladejo, was inaugurated last Wednesday by the House Speaker, Honourable Monsurat Sumonu. The event, Sumonu described Oladejo’s gesture as being symbolic of the strides being recorded across the state by the All Progressives Congress (APC) legislators.
She urged the people of the state to keep the faith with the APC and continue in their support for the current administration in the state.
In his remarks, a chieftain of the party, who was the state chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Chief Akin Oke, said the procurement of the transformer by Oladejo was in line with the fulfilment of the APC’s social contract with the people of the state.
Chief Oke, who expressed the confidence that the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, would break the second-term jinx in the state in 2015, said it behoved the people of the state to support the governor in this regard in the interest of continued peace, growth and development.
Hon. Oladejo said his gesture was an attempt at ameliorating one of the twin challenges facing the community which, according to him, were inadequate transformers and bad roads.
He promised to continue in his capacity to serve the people and ensure that dividends of democracy were brought to nooks and crannies of the constituency.
Leaders and other members of the benefitting community, as well as APC members and supporters from across the state and the constituency attended the inauguration.
