Photo Blast: #DonTeeAt40 -The Dinner of Class
It was all cream and class has Tony Rowland Awobode AKA Don Tee brought major players in the city together from different sectors for a classy dinner and cocktail event in celebration of his birthday. Different players in the entertainment, government, business and media industry graced the occasion in continuation of #DonTeeAt40 celebrations.
Using the newly constructed Daylan Event Hall on Eleyele Road was well thought of, as the event hall itself exudes class and royalty. Invited guests, who were elegantly dressed defied the heavy rains and started coming in from around 6pm, for an event slated for 7pm.
Right from the red carpet session when celebrities posed for the paparazzi, to the cocktail session, when guests were hosted to a very engaging Karaoke time, by International KJ Sheggz, the fun in the atmosphere was not one you come across in a typical event, held in this part of the country . Trust Lafup, the Compere for the night to liven up the whole atmosphere. He grabbed the microphone at around 8pm and brought standards to the way formal event compering is done in the city.
It was all merriment and networking, as guests were treated to sumptuous meals, drinks, exotic wines and the likes in the heavenly like decorated event hall, that Dexterity Events did. Kudos to Mike&Mary Caterers for the awesome meals. DJ Banky was on standby all through the night infusing some old school music into the atmosphere at intervals. Femi Odewole was on the band stand and he brought the house down with some very classy life beats from his band. The night was full of activities, with different dance groups performing, Fire performances from magicians, awesome stage craft from Fabulous Pizzy, Keanzo, and even Peteru with his rib cracking jokes etc.
A documentary of the life of Don Tee and his achievements, which was done by Mr Tunez Filmakers was also played for all the guests to have a feel of the media icon, his past present and his future plans and for a few people to say something about the media Icon.
Major media houses were fully represented at the event, like Splash FM, The Beat FM, Naija FM, Lagelu FM, Inspiration FM, Space FM, R2FM, Fresh FM, Petals FM, Raypower FM, Lead Radio, even the new 32 FM and a hosts of others. Akin Sugar, DJ Semight, The CEO Options Night Club, Bikers Club members, Major Deejays in the city, Rotimi Ige of Tribune, BNYC Entertainment, Mustlaff entertainment, Olere Photography, who handled the pictures, Xquisit Ushers, and a whole lot of industry players were in attendance to mention a few.
The event rounded up at around 11pm with fireworks and a toast to the celebrant and his enchanting wife, the CEO of Dress My Closet who also was elegant all through the event. This was rounded up by appreciation from the celebrant and Wale Ozolua of The Beat 97.9 closed the night.
Don Tee is a great Icon for youths and upcoming entertainers in the city and beyond. As part of his 40th birthday celebration, #96HoursForDonTee, he launched the ‘Right the Wrong’ Initiative and took a team of entertainers and some industry guys to Agodi Prison on the 15th of June to organize a talent concert for the inmates in celebration of his 40th Birthday. This initiative focuses on young people and seeks to enlighten them on consequences leading to detainment and conviction in Nigeria. And also, how to find hope and achieve a better life as an ex-convict in Nigeria.
The celebration continues today with a media tour of all radio stations in the city and a club tour, later at night.
