Wasiu Alalade eyes ABS’ starting spot
The forward claims there is a good amount of competitiveness in the Saraki Boys squad but ahead of their trip to Ibadan he hopes to secure a place
Wasiu Alalade states his desire to make the ABS squad that will face Shooting Stars in a Nigerian topflight encounter on Sunday.
The former First Bank goal poacher acknowledges the competition in Henry Makinwa’s setup and hopes he can also weigh in with his contribution.
“We are preparing hard and I want to make the matchday squad and possibly get a starting berth this weekend when we face Shooting Stars,” Alalade said.
“The competition in our team is healthy as everyone knows what’s at stake and wants to make a positive contribution so as to make the club proud.
“Personally, I am looking forward to be named in the squad for this weekend trip to Ibadan. That’s the vibe in the camp.
“We have a good chance against Shooting Stars, One, because it’s a derby and two, the current situation they are facing is an advantage we can leverage on.
“We have a group of exciting young talent who if not for ABS may not be playing at this level. But because of the club’s vision, we all aren’t taking this opportunity lightly.
“We have proven with our playing style and what we have achieve so far, that modern day football is in the hands of the energetic and talented youths.”
