Glo Lafftafest train berths in Ibadan, delivers Africa’s best comedians

NIGERIAN telecommunications giant, Globacom, on Sunday, lived up to its promise of bringing the crème of comedians currently making waves across Africa to Ibadan.

The Lafftafest series this year has been billed to happen in over 27 locations across Nigeria finally berthed in Ibadan with thousands of fun seekers trooping to the University of Ibadan International Conference Centre, venue of the event.

It was indeed a night to remember for the residents of the city, as ace comedians like Basketmouth, Gordons, Kenny Black, Bovi, Bash, Salvador (Uganda), among others took turns to deliver witty jokes and performances.

There were also celebrity appearances by Nollywood ambassadors like Odunlade Adekola, Mr Latin, Patience Ozorkwor (Mama G) with Mercy Johnson and Juliet Ibrahim as hosts for the night. DJ Banky and DJ Neptune were also on hand to make sure revellers had a rollicking time.

There were also recognised appearances by leading comedians from Ibadan like Mc Rapindady, 13th Disciple, Gee Jokes, among others and who got standing ovations for their performances.

Other locations that will host the show in the weeks ahead include Awka, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Festac, Ajah, Asaba, Aba, Suleja, Kubwa, Ijebu Ode, Abeokuta, Ekpoma, Kaduna, Akure, Lokoja and Anyigba.

The show returns for a musical second leg on August 6.
