Alao-Akala charges PDP members on violent-free congress
Former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the state to be orderly and ensure a violent-free congress during the congresses of the party scheduled to commence on Saturday. Alao-Akala, a governorship aspirant of the party, in a press statement signed by his spokesman, Mr Abraham Ojo, said participants in the congresses should toe the line of peace by following the party’s guideline and principle of promoting internal democracy.
“As members of the only disciplined party in Nigeria, we must demonstrate our genuine intention towards the growth and sustenance of the nation’s democracy through promotion of internal democracy as against the doctrine of imposition and propaganda of the opposition parties.
“It is expected of us to maintain peace and orderliness, let us have a hitch-free congress and choose responsible delegates that will represent the interest of the majority.
“Its obvious that the people of Oyo State are yearning for our return to the government and we must not truncate our chances of winning the elections in 2015. We must solidify our base and work as a team that is poised for success, and I am sure our collective efforts will yield positive result,” Alao-Akala said.
While reiterating the commitment of the PDP towards a better Nigeria, Otunba Akala said “ PDP is committed to developing Nigeria and this we have been able to achieved through numerous transformational project such as massive infrastructural development, in both urban and rural areas, and record of success in provision of quality Health, care service , qualitative Education, employment generations and economic empowerment and other sectors, and we are poised to continue with this until Nigeria of everybody’s dream is achieved.
“ Our verifiable records of the past achievements are there for all to see and by the special grace of God, if re-elected in 2015, we shall continue with the 5killometre per road projects across the state which by now would have made everywhere in the state be accessible due to the continuity plans and we”ll ensure regular payment of salaries and other remuneration for workers and empower our market men and women without making life difficult for anybody.
