Scores of stakeholders of Oando Plc from across South Western States stormed Ibadan, Oyo state capital Tuesday, protesting alleged N263billion liability of the company which the Auditors report claimed is making “Oando Plc no longer a going concern”. Converging on the premises of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Iyaganku Ibadan from where they proceeded to the Nigerian Stock Exchange office at Dugbe business centre of the city, the shareholders who carried placards with unprintable inscriptions against Oando’s management, demanded the resignation or sack of the company’s Managing Director, Wale Tinubu for thorough probe of the finances of the company. The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has sued Governor Abiola Ajimobi and 23 others for crowning 21 kings in Ibadan. The mass coronation happened on August 27. Also joined in the suit are: the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, the eight high chiefs who were elevated to kings as well as the baales who were conferred with kingship status. RESIDENTS and traders in various parts of Ibadan metropolis recently clamoured for the return of private waste contractors, to enhance the evacuation of refuse in the state. The Oyo State government recently said that its contract with private waste contractors had been terminated with effect from May 5. It added that the Oyo State Waste Management Authority (OYOWMA) now had the mandate tocollect waste, in line with its commitment to ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment.
